Berisha fails to appear at SPAK, prosecutors grant him permission for travel abroad

Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha has not been submitted to this Monday in the Special Prosecution, where he is obliged to go periodically into the implementation of the security measure “due to be presented”. His absence is an official trip to Strasbourg, for which he has received preliminary approval from [the] prosecutors....
According to sources from the prosecution body, Berisha had earlier submitted a request for the extension of the 7 April presentation, arguing that he would be in Strasbourg for a political engagement at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
The Special Prosecutor has approved the request, as has the previous case, where Berisha has been engaged in international activities, including an official visit to Germany.
The former prime minister is under investigation for the privatisation issue of the former sports complex “Partizan”, where SPAK accuses of “of passive corruption of top state or local officials”, conducted in co-operation with his groom, Jamarber Malltez.
