Begaj chairman of NATO Military Committee: We Must Support Kosovo to Be Part of International Organisations

Albania's president, Bajram Begaj, hosted NATO Military Committee Chairman Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone today.

The head of state, after congratulateing him for his post and thanking Albania for his first visit to the region, once again expressed appreciation for the NATO mission and role.

President Begaj stressed that NATO's presence in the region and KFOR's presence in Kosovo testify to the importance and attention that NATO pays to our region.

Be together, discuss together, find solutions together because only if we are unified and together, we will be stronger. Peace and security are two magic words not only for our region in the times we are living in. We must work hard to guarantee them”, the president of the Republic said.

The head of state stressed that we must support Kosovo as part of international organisations and boost co-operation within NATO and regional initiatives.

The president of the Republic stressed that Albania has increased the defence budget, follows the modernisation of the Armed Forces, and has increased its representation in NATO missions and operations.

It's very important, President Begaj underlined, investment in infrastructure projects such as Corridor V. III and the new Porto Romano port, which achieve strategic interconnection and enhance military mobility”.
