US and Latvia soldiers, assigned to the Regional Command in the East of KFOR mission, recently joined in training for cargo operations day and night.
“The chairmanship of the sling-loading training allows KFOR troops to stay prepared to be able to transport vehicles or supplies by means of ropes connected to rotating helicopters at a moment”, KFOR reports.
According to the NATO mission in Kosovo, these efforts are part of the daily mission, to stay prepared for each scenario and to consistently support all communities living in Kosovo.
“KFOR continues to implement its mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 in 1999 to contribute to a secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement at any time and impartially.
KFOR works in close co-ordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union for Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responseors”, the announcement concludes.
