The operation included thousands of police officers, police dogs, fears and helicopters, and targeted over 626 addresses, Yerlikaya said. The raids came as a result of each suspect's observations over six months.
The minister has added that most of those arrested are suspected to be involved in selling narcotics via internet platforms. According to him, raids will continue in the following days, the AP reported.
The raids in Turkey come after a large-scale operation in Europe on Tuesday that targeted drug trafficking and money laundering networks. Over 230 people were arrested in the operation run by Europol and police forces in the Netherlands, Turkey, Germany, Spain and Belgium, and assets worth $400m were seized. /Periscope
