11 years in prison, 8 thousand euros in fine against two former investigators charged with corruption

Under the trial, the accused Osmani of criminal activity in co-ordination “Taking bribes” was sentenced to 4 years in prison and 2 thousand euros in fines. For points 3 and 4, he was sentenced to 3 years in prison and 2 thousand euros in fines. To him, a unique prison sentence was pronounced 6 years and a 4 thousand-euro fine.
Meanwhile, Mendzic for his first work was sentenced to 4 years in prison and 2 thousand euros in fines. Other points of this charge, however, were not highlighted during the proclamation.
Therefore Mendzic, the unique sentence of 5 years in prison and 4 thousand euros in fines was declared, Periscope.
In the stated sentence, the two indictees were counted last time in custody and house arrest. If they do not pay the fine, the same is replaced by prison, where one day the prison is estimated at 20 euros in fine.
The two accused were also forbidden to exercise public office in public administration or public service in length of five years.
The same are required to pay the expenses of criminal procedure and of 50 euros for judicial patrol and 50 euros for the compensation fund for crime victims.
The injured is directed to regular law-civilis.
Also, according to the indictment, money is confiscated by the Mendqi War, with a total of 9 thousand euros, while Osmani's glory is 1,000 and 300 euros. Weapons found by Mendjiqi are also seized during the raid.
Against this bias, the parties have the right to complaint in the 30-day term.
By contrast, the Pristina Constitutional Court, on February 14, 2022, had convicted Osman and Mendzhaj of a total sentence of 12 years in prison and 8 thousand euros in fines.
However, the Court of Appeals, on May 3, 2023, has ruled through which it has annulled the Constitutional Act and turned the criminal case against Mendzic and Osman into retrial.
Appeals' decision on the issue came after the hearing at the Court on April 5th 2023, where complaints of defenders of the accused were discussed, for the Ramadan Osmani- lawyer Muhamet Mujaj and for Lutfi Mendzic- lawyer Skender Musa.
Otherwise, according to the indictment compiled on June 30th 2020, Osmani and Mendjiqi were charged that early November 2019, in the quality of investigators at the Directorate of Economic Crimes and Corruption in Pristina, they had accepted bribery by Driton Berisha and D.H, in order not to take action to fight the games of fate.
