A source of Ukrainian government said the main issue now is achieving peace and that it is completely false that preparations for elections are already under way, broadcasts Periscope.
A source from former Ukrainian President Petro Porosenko's team said there is currently almost no chance of ending the war and holding elections.
The head of Ukraine's Central Election Commission, Oleg Didenko, said that, under current legislation, Verkhovna Rada must make a decision on the appointment of presidential elections within a month after the military situation ends.
The Economist reported, citing sources in the Ukrainian government, that the presidential elections in Ukraine could be held early this summer and that Zelensky intends to run for a second term.
According to unidentified sources, Zelensky called a meeting last week to instruct his team to organise a vote after a full ceasefire, which Americans believe could be implemented by the end of April.
