White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavet read a US statement about today's telephone conversation between the Presidents Trump and Zelensky, which described the call as “fantastic” and “-producing”.
She “significantly helped” in efforts to end the war, Leavitt said, reports Periscope.
Zelensky thanked the US for the Yavelin missiles in particular that Ukraine was given for the first time from Trump.
The leaders also reviewed the situation in Kursk and agreed to share information closely, the statement continued.
Trump suggested that the US take ownership of Ukraine's thermal power plants to ensure their safety.
Zelensky requested additional air defence missiles to protect Ukrainian civilians, while Trump responded, saying he would work with him on that.
Further talks will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in the days ahead, the statement said.
Zelensky also thanked Trump for pushing for the exchange of prisoners like he successfully developed today.
