It has continued to provide defence to war crimes indictee Dragisa Milenkovic, who said that when the line of defence had come and propose witnesses, he had thought to propose Prime Minister Kurti, as he was imprisoned in Pristina prison.
I asked Prime Minister Kurti to give the statement as a citizen, but 20 months ago the prosecutor promised to hear it. I wasn't interested as Prime Minister, but I was reminded of it as a name, as a citizen who was in prison. It was accepted in my shift, I gave him soap and shampoo when he arrived,” said Milenkovic, reports “Battle for Justice”.
In addition, Milenkovic said it is not true that he tortured Roma, as he himself lived in the neighbourhood with them and that he had the same neighbours.
Similarly, Milenkovic said it is not true that he has beaten a Serb (not to mention his name), as it is not about the event allegedly beating a Serb, and that the same person has had problems with his brother, but not with him personally.
Milenkovic said he has given up the proposal to listen to witnesses, as the same are employed in state institutions in Kosovo and that the same could create problems.
He denied that they had formed cords as guards during the transfer from Lipjan prison to Dubrava's and vice versa.
Milenkovic explained that there have been four chief shifts and that some of them were Albanians and it is strange why he is accused, while his bosses, when it is known that the same have led with internal affairs and actions, have not been charged.
The incident, founded on December 26th, 2023 by the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo, charges Dragisa Milenkovjcin that in the quality of Pristina and Lipjan Prison Guardian, during the period of war in Kosovo 1998-1999, in Pristina and Lipjan Prison, in systematic co-ordination had persecuted Albanian prisoners.
On January 10, 2024, Milenkovic was declared innocent of war crimes at the initial session, while he pleaded guilty to illegal possession./Periscopi/
