President Vjosa Osmani said the meeting he held with the EU envoy for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Peter Sorensen, has been more informative of the Kosovo side's attitudes.
She said that in detail she presented her remarks to the draft status proposed by the EU for Association, broadcasts Periscope.
“More was announced about our positions than that we took positions on his part and that is perfectly normal because it is the beginning of the” mandate, Osmani said, until he added that these discussions would continue further.
She later said that the current draft draft state for S session passes the Constitutional Court test since it is not in line with the Constitution of Kosovo.
“We are talking about the EU draft status issue that I personally believe are not in line with the Constitution of Kosovo, neither are they in line with the values and norms of the EU and the standards of the Council of Europe then and also are not in line with the 2015 Constitutional Court's decision”.
And I don't think any test can be passed at the Constitutional Court, which has already set standards for many of these topics placed within the draft-state such as the executive competencies of Association and many other questions”.
So it was more adversarial meeting about our positions not only for the draft-state, but also for the dialogue process at large”.
Osmani said that in the dialogue process so far the principle of equality between the parties was addressed.
“has been a unilateral process that has damaged the very credibility of the process. Now with the new EU leadership, we hope very much this balance and this equality returns to the table because it would help the process's own credibility, so I hope that there will be more positive results”.
