Van der Bellen, except for Albania, has spoken about the entire Western Balkan region.
He said Austria will see that the Western Balkans are high in the European Union's agenda in the aspirations for integration in this region.
“Albania can count on Austria's full support on its path towards EU membership, as well as on our continued efforts to ensure that EU and Western Balkans enlargement stand at the helm of the EU agenda”, he said.
Also, the Austrian head of state spoke specifically about the progress that Albania has scored and the goal of EU integration by 2030.
“Albania has achieved significant progress in recent years and has become one of the predecessors in the EU membership process. The country's ambition is to join the European Union by 2030<18x1>, Van der Bellen stressed.
