“Zelensky made a mistake at the White House and should do his best to regulate relations with President Donald Trump. I am not Zelensky's great supporter, but he will be the president of Ukraine until the end of the war because elections cannot be held in this” situation, Goncharenko said.
The MP also stressed the importance of American aid to Ukraine, arguing that support from Europe is not enough to cope with Russian aggression.
The only “Europe cannot give us what we need. Russian tanks are not destroyed with statements or posts on social networks. We need concrete support. We're not happy about changing the U.S. approach to support, but this is where we are now. We are ready for peace and I think Trump can achieve peace, but we cannot cross the red lines, which are the sovereignty of Ukraine, the kind of army and guarantees that Russia will not attack again. It's not just Ukraine, because we're protecting Europe now. ” he said.
