President Trump's administration has reactivated military aid and intelligence data for Ukraine, while Kiev has accepted an American proposal for a 30-day war ceasefire against Russia, pending an agreement with Moscow, American and Ukrainian officials said Tuesday following talks in Saudi Arabia.
“Today was a good day for peace. Thanks to President Trump's leadership and the gracious hospitality of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, we are one step closer to restoring lasting peace for Ukraine. The ball is now in Russia's field”, said Secretary Rubio through a text on the X network.

State Secretary Marco Rubio, who led the US delegation to talks in Jedah, Saudi Arabia, said Washington would present the Kremlin with the ceasefire proposal. So far, Russia has rejected everything except the permanent end of the conflict without accepting any concessions.
We'll tell them this is what we have on the table. Ukraine is ready to stop the war and start dialogue. It will now be up to them to accept or express against”Secretary Rubio told reporters after the meeting. If they say no, then unfortunately we'll know what the barrier to peace is.”
President Trump's adviser to national security, Mike Waltz, said: Ukrainian delegation made it quite clear today that they share President Trump's vision of peace”.
Tuesday's discussions, lasting about eight hours, seem to have ended -- at least at the moment -- the disagreements between Presidents Zelensky and Trump. Waltz said the parties in the talks talked in detail about ending the war forever, including long-term security guarantees. He said President Trump agreed to immediately cancel the suspension of US military aid to Ukraine for billions of dollars, and sharing intelligence data. President Trump has said he hopes to reach an agreement over the coming days.
“E knows we have an important meeting with Russia tomorrow and I hope there is excellent talks”President Trump said without giving details.
President Trump's special envoy, Steve Whitoff, is expected to go to Moscow later this week, where he can meet with President Vladimir Putin, according to an individual who has knowledge of the issue but not authorised to comment publicly. He said plans could change.
Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, spoke immediately after the end of peace talks, repeating Ukraine's commitment to achieving a lasting peace, while stressing that his country has sought to end the war since its beginning.
Our location is absolutely clear. Ukraine has been trying for peace in the first second of this war and we want to do everything possible to achieve it as soon as possible, safely and make sure the war doesn't return”He said Zelensky.
Ukrainian Deputy President Andriy Yermak, who led the Ukrainian delegation, described the negotiations as positive. In a joint statement with the American side, he said both countries share the same vision and that we are walking in the same direction for a fair peace, long-awaited from all Ukrainian “. /voa
