US President added that “well recognises Vladimir Putin” and expressed satisfaction with the fact that relations between the two sides have not deteriorated due to accusations in 2016 that Russia allegedly intervened in presidential elections in the United States.
Donald Trump recalled that Vladimir Putin did not invade Ukraine when he was president of the US in his first term.
“He took nothing while I was president”, Donald Trump said, adding that Russia's military action in Georgia and Crime took place during the mandate of American presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, and that the invasion of Ukraine occurred when President Joe Biden was on duty.
