Tragedy in Kocan: Two patients treated in Belgrade at risk for life

The state of health of the injured treated in Belgrade is stable, but 2 patients are still in mechanical ventilation, Periscopi broadcast. Plastic Surgery Clinic Director Milan Stoicicic in statement for RTS said that skin transplants have been developed in some patients, while surgery will also take place of 6 [...] patients.
Plastic Surgery Clinic Director Milan Stoicicic in statement for RTS said skin transplants have been conducted in some patients, while surgery will be conducted by another 6 patients added to the Emergency Centre.
“I also have good news, some patients may be able to move to the department, because their respiratory function is improving and burns are such that they do not seek position in the intensive care unit. It's about young people, the youngest patient is 17 years old, only one patient is 35 years old, while others are about 20,”, said Milan Stojciq, director of the Clinic for Plastic Surgery.
Because of damage to respiratory organs from smoke, patients are under constant supervision by anesthesiologists and other experts. Stojciq points out that all patients in mechanical ventilation are in danger of life, but other patients may also be in danger depending on the performance of treatment.
“Complication can be shown in all available organs, but for this reason we have specialised teams, including abdominal surgeons, nephrologists and psychiatrists who visit patients every day”, said Milan Stojciq, Clinic Director for Plastic Surgery.
30 injured by the tragedy in Kocani have been sent to Serbia. In Nis there is a patient, at the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade there are 12, while 17 patients are at Serbia's Clinical Centre Emergency Centre.
