“Topi is in Russia field...” Warn Kaya Kallas before new Trump-Putin conversation

Russia does not want peace in Ukraine and cannot be believed to advance such a goal, EU High Representative Kaya Kallas warned on the eve of a new call between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, which Europe will surely follow closely. Russia “will [...]
Russia “will take advantage of this opportunity to submit all kinds of requirements, and what we see already is that they are applying that are the final goals”, Kallas said on Monday afternoon after a meeting of foreign affairs ministers in Brussels.
Her comments are a response to Putin's undedicated response to the White House's proposal for a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine, which Kiev has already accepted, broadcasts Telegrafi, Periscopi broadcasts.
The Russian leader has insisted on clarifying some “unition”, including whether to continue Western supplies with weapons and ammunition.
So, during these 30 days will the mobilization in Ukraine continue? Will weapons be supplied there? Is it 30 days before the newly established units are trained? Or none of these” will happen, he asked at a news conference last week.
Putin also spoke of a solution to address what he called the key <x0ukkats” of the war -- a term he often uses to seek the demilitarisation of Ukraine and a commitment to neutrality, which Kiev strongly opposes.
“Topi is in the field of Russia. What we see now is that Russia does not really want peace. (There) was understanding about Russia's table cannot truly be believed”, Kallas said on Monday.
Asked whether Europe would be invited to US-led talks, Kallas said, “Sic and we see, there is no negotiating table because Russia is not coming to the chat table”.
Kãotis Budrys, Lithuania's Foreign Affairs Minister who attended Monday's meeting, said the burden of concessions should be imposed on the aggressor.
“We demand from Ukraine an unconditional position when we see so many conditions on Putin's side and we see the real goal”, Budrys said after his arrival.
There's no place for peace in Putin's imperial plan, that's clear and these actions show more than words for themselves”. Add Budrys.
His Finnish counterpart, Elina Valtonen, expressed a similar message.
President Trump's true effort to achieve peace should not be misused by Putin to further weaken Ukraine, and to return with aggression at some point in the near future”, she said.
Scepticism is shared by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who has described Putin's preconditions as “very predictable and “very manipulating”.
Zelensky pointed to Russian military establishment reports along the border with the Sumi region, northeast of Ukraine, as evidence to <x0 clear “that Putin aims at “the suspension of diplomacy” and “the extension of war”.
This shows a goal to attack”, Zelensky said over the weekend.
Trump, on the contrary, appeared more optimistic as he announced his intention to hold a call with Putin on Tuesday, which the Kremlin confirmed.
We'll talk about land. We will talk about thermal power plants”, Trump said on Sunday, adding that negotiators had already discussed “the division of specific assets”.
