Some enthusiastic young men from Drenica launched the first armed attacks against Serbian police forces after 1992.
They disagreed with the existing situation and made decisions that humiliation, torture, persecution of the systematic killings of Albanians by the Serbian occupant reportedly.
In September 1992, Hashim Thaci, Sami Lushtaku, Jakup Nura and Ramiz Ladrovci would conduct the first action on the railway railway in Drenas.
That wasn't the only action. After him, the group of legendary commander Adem Jashar would begin guerrilla attacks, and from that moment on, Serbian occupational forces would not feel comfortable in the Drenica region.
Adem Jashar, Sami Lushtaku, Jakup Nura, Sami and Nuredin Lushtaku, Fadil Kodra, Sahit Jashar, Kadri Veselini, Hashim Thaci, Ilaz Kodra, Besim Rama and others began striking the enemy.
In May 1993 a major action was conducted against the Serbian police.
To continue later in May 1993 at the meeting we had with a large group of Serbian police, as well as in Drenas”, Hashim Thaci would be expressed later, showing that the action was successful and no members of the group were damaged.
Serbian media at the time were alarmed, Serbian forces were disturbed, and the Albanian population did not believe that there are Albanians who would return the rifle to Serbia.
Reporter Violet Oros had published an article on May 31, 1993, about the attack on Drenas.
Political parties in Kosovo had declared at the time that Serb forces are killing each other.
“was a bilateral confrontation among members of police”, the Albanian parties' response said.
Serbia's official “terrorists have charged the Albanian “as responsible for this serious incident, though until now ( Thursday, May 27th) none of the attackers have been captured”, the article of May 31, 1993, said.
