Shea has said that Kosovo should be prepared despite the fact that the American contingent in Kosovo is small and that it is a huge financial burden for America, when compared to contingents in Germany or Poland.
According to former NATO spokeswoman Trump, Trump can ask Kosovo what he will give in exchange for maintaining troops in Kosovo.
However, Trump is transactional and he can ask Kosovo what favors he can offer to keep [American] troops in Kosovo especially in the form of business agreements and investment opportunities. So be prepared”, Shea told Radio Free Europe.
He also recalls that Trump, in the past, “has tried to play the peacemaker between Belgrade and Pristina” and says American troops in Kosovo “give the US a bigger leverage in this” role.
