After choosing not to go the fourth time, the Special Prosecutor came out with one. reaction.
The Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo, following the interest of many journalists, informs that witness A.K. has not been submitted to the Special Prosecutor to give his testimony despite the fact that the same has been commissioned by the Constitutional Court's Order in Pristina to appear in witness quality to give his testimony date 04.03.2025 at 10:00 at the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo.
The Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo, even in this criminal case, as in all other cases, will act by respecting legislation in power”According to official announcement.
On the other hand, there was a reaction from the prime minister's office.
Kurt's office says this case has been politicised and insists Kurt is willing to give the testimony, but on the condition that it is taken into his office.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti's refusal to submit to the Special Prosecutor for an interview in quality has prompted the reactions of Kosovo allies.
The European Union office in Pristina and embassies of several European countries have estimated that the law should be respected by all.
“Respect for rule of law is an essential feature of Kosovo's democracy. We encourage interested ones in this case to act in accordance with the Kosovo Constitution and respect the appropriate legal process and work in the country's best interest”, is said to respond to the British Embassy for Klan Kosovo.
Even the German Embassy has estimated that law and procedures should be respected by all.
“We fully agree with statements made by other missions. We expect the rule of law to be fully respected and relevant procedures and processes respected by all”, German Embassy spokesman Christian Bötcher has indicated.
Regarding Kurt's disregard for the prosecution's invitations, attorney Skender Musa has spoken about procedures on how the prime minister can be fined for refusing to do justice organs.
Musa has told Periscope that Kurti can be arrested and pronounced the detention measure for a month, as there is no immunity to protect him.
There is no immunity that protects any who are called to testify to criminal acts of corruption, and the ministers and the prime minister have no immunity to promise that they are related to their work. The law envisions the obligation of each citizen to testify about the white light of the criminal case. That which you see in knowledge and in that which you have sent. For failing to present the legal clause in the Court, the witness can be fined up to 250 euros, but doesn't predict how many times he can fight if he doesn't appear, then the right to the Prosecutor's Law is introduced and the court's answer to a month's detention measure...”He said Periscope.
Even lawyer Bajraktari has explained the measures to the person who ignores the order of the Court in this case of Kurt.
Because we have a court order, it remains that the eventual failure to reason on what can hardly be done. After this code of criminal procedure, Article 132 is clear, under which the judge charges 250 euros for default”Bajraktari said about Periscope.
Kurt's departure from the prosecution left the country with a bad image in the international arena.
The most prestigious media balls were filled with how Kosovo's prime minister is constantly refusing to testify to the prosecutor for a suspected corruption case.
Otherwise, Periscope has sent questions to the Constitutional Court in Pristina about what further steps it will take following the reluctance of Prime Minister Kurti's order, but the same so far have not returned. / P ERISCOPI/
