Kosovo Specialised Chambers spokesman Michael Doyle has confirmed for RTKl, that Special has received the letter from Haxhiu, but has not provided details about the contents of the letter.
“Confirm that Specialised Chambers have received correspondence from the Kosovo Ministry of Justice on the issue. We don't give details on our correspondence unless it becomes part of a public file”, he said.
Otherwise Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu has deemed the Special Court's decision unjust to prevent former President Hashim Thaci from attending his father's funeral.
Through a Facebook post, the minister has announced that she will write to the head of the Special Chambers.
Haxhiu has described this decision as absurd and violation of fundamental human rights.
“Judicial processes should be right and based on respect for basic human rights. There is nothing more human than attending a parent's funeral. So, completely absurd from what we realized from the media that former Thaci president has not been given permission to attend the father's funeral ceremony”, Haxhiu said.
