US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky should apologise after his meeting with President Donald Trump at the Ovale Office turned into what Rubio described as a “fiasco”, while asking whether the Ukrainian leader really wants peace in the country's fight with Russia.
In an exclusive interview for CNNRubio called on Zelenski to apologize for turning this thing into a fiasco for him that took place after his meeting at the White House with Trump and Vice President JD Vance turned into a severe clash.
“There was no need for him to enter it and become antagonist”Said Rubio.
Rubio's remarks underscored the serious damage to US-Ukrainian relations at the end of a week, when leaders of the United Kingdom and France visited Washington to present the Trump issue that the US should mediate to end the war that does not give Russian President Vladimir Putin's interests a priority over Zelenski's interests.
