Rama: At 2026, Albania's minimum wage will amount to 500 euros

He stressed that during his governance a huge increase in average and minimum wages has been realised, explaining: “When we took office, the average public sector salary was 372 euros, today in 2024, we closed the average salary by 1,000 euros. We've made a huge increase, we've had the average salary at 322 euros, and today we have 830 euros. ”
For the minimum wage, Rama stressed that it has exceeded between 157 euros and 400 euros and is expected to reach 500 euros by June 2026. We had 157 euros, we have 400 euros. And in June we will make it 500 euros and will go into effect by January 2026. Most businesses have a much higher minimum wage today. He added that most businesses in Albania already offer minimum salaries higher than what is legally defined”, Rama said.
Rama stressed that these changes are part of the SP's programme to improve economic conditions and provide better opportunities for young people and employees in the country.
