Prizren Mayor Shacir Totaj has held a meeting with the representative of families affected by landslides in a village of Leskovec. According to Komuna's announcement, this situation is being handled with concern and high institutional commitment, broadcasts Periscope.

After inspections on the ground and assessments by experts, the municipality suggests that “has been found that the landslide is active and poses serious risks to some houses and the lives of residents living there. In some areas, cracks and shifting of the earth up to 1.5 meters deep and over 50 feet [50 m] in length”

At the meeting held with cabinet representatives, inspectorate, emergency and public services, Mayor Totaj has made immediate decisions on protecting residents. According to the municipality's announcement, it is decided that “will become the immediate evacuation of residents from endangered homes, as well as provide temporary and safe residences for these citizens”.

The municipality has also announced that “will cover the rent for families evacuated until the permanent solution to the” problem.

Mayor Totaj has stressed that citizens' security is the main priority of the municipal institution, and that actions will continue decisively and transparency to provide protection and long-term solutions to the situation.
