The 88-year-old pope also plans to offer a blessing and greetings to the lovers at the end of Sunday's Angelus prayer, the Vatican press office said early Saturday.
The pope usually directs the Angel's prayer and offers a weekly reflection, but he has not done so during the last five Sundays. The Vatican said that the written text of Pope's words will be published as it was done before.
Francescu's current deployment has been his longest stay in Gemelli since his election as Pope 12 years ago. While he has not been seen for five weeks, his presence has been felt with the Vatican sending a brief audio message from the Pope, as well as a photo last weekend showing him praying at the church in that hospital.
The Vatican said Wednesday that the pope's situation appeared to be improving, adding that his pneumonia is considered under control. He no longer needs assisted breathing, but has continued to get oxygen.
Last week, the pope approved a new three-year reform process for the Catholic Church, sending a strong signal that it intends to remain in office despite his long stay in the hospital.
Reforms at the table include more roles of women in the Catholic Church, including disgurging them as minorities and greater involvement of non-kleric members in governance and decision making.
While recent medical updates by the Vatican have spoken of improvement, he has provided no details of when the pope can be released from the hospital and it is not yet clear whether he will be out in time for the Holy Week and Easter.
