Kosovo police have confiscated over 32kg of marijuana in a license car from Serbia during a Kosovo crossing-point search of Serbia in Jarinje.
Police have made it known that following suspicions the Mercedes A-Clas brand car has been sent for detailed checks south of Mitrovica.

The Directorate for Investigation of Narcotics by Kosovo Police has conducted a successful operation in the North Mitrovica region, where it has prevented the transport of a considerable amount of narcotics.
According to the police report, it becomes known that after a reliable information that a Serbian license vehicle was transporting narcotics, the operation was conducted at the Jarinje border crossing point.
During the implementation of the police operation coded “STAGU” for control of several suspected vehicles, a Mercedes A-Clas brand vehicle with Serbian license plates has been selected for inspection. After considerable doubts have been raised, the vehicle in question has been sent to South Mitrovica for a more detailed audit. During the inspection and control of the vehicle, an added metal reservoir has been found on the lower side of the vehicle, measuring 100 inches [160 cm] and 15 inches [25 cm] deep, suspected of carrying narcotic substances.
After the opening of the reservoir, a total of 30 packages wrapped in transparent sheets containing suspected narcotics substances of marijuana. The total weight of the seized amount is 324 kg.
It is further known that the operation has been carried out in full consultation with the Prosecution Prosecutor in Mitrovica.
In line with legal procedures, two mobile phones have been confiscated and the suspected vehicle has been seized for further investigation.
