In 2022, Kosovo took its toll on almost the last countries in the PISA test results.
But after three years, the country's institutions have decided to challenge students in this assessment once again. From May 10th to May 31st, this test will be organised, in which about 6500 students are expected to participate.
But school principal “Emin Duraku”, Visar Osmani, does not view the country's participation in PISA as the right decision.
I think Kosovo's application or our country's frequent request to take part in that test has penalised us a little. We have to sit down and find the defects to find out what's the problem of getting so low, we've come up with the sense down that's disturbing”, Osman says.
Although the school he is running had previously not participated in this test, he says students are prepared to submit to this international assessment.
“We try to be ready always for these assessments made from the outside, whether of internal or external actions. I don't think we should be prepared just before we start holding the test, but our preparation should be permanent”, Osmani says.
However, the education expert, Youth Qehaja, does not expect good results either this year.
“Taking the test P The ISA is necessary, but at the same time we don't appreciate that I can make any fundamental difference in rank for the very healthy reason, and that learning and teaching in Kosovo at the episode continues to have memorization, that it continues to have mechanical learning that is quite contrary to the test. P The ISA, logical questions that require logical answers”, values Qehaja.
In test results “PISA 2022”, Kosovo was ranked 76th out of 80 participating states.
Television has been trying throughout the week to have a stand by the Ministry of Education on preparations that have been made this year to have better results, but have not returned./Periscopi/
