Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Ferat Shala has declared that warning of expensive electricity prices would seriously harm citizens and businesses in the country, and the party representing it would use all legal means to counter that decision. At the media conference held Sunday, Shala has [...]
At Sunday's media conference, Shala has said the current government should immediately stop this policy, which, according to him, is harmful, and take concrete steps to protect consumers, reports Periscope.
“The decision of the Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRE) to force businesses to submit to KEDS for the open market would create great uncertainty and difficulties for them. Moreover, the lack of real competition in the energy market means only one thing: higher prices and more unfavourable conditions for consumers. We will not allow Kosovo families and businesses to be the next victims of wrong economic experiments. The Democratic Party of Kosovo will use all institutional and legal means to counter this unfair decision, including its contest at the Constitutional Court”, Shala has said.
Shala has said that in the past five years, Kosovo citizens have faced several times the expensive price of electricity, which this government has made no effort to stop.
Rather, hiding behind the terminology of market liberalisation, it is pushing a dangerous scenario that burdens the country's families and economy”, Shala has said.
