Dear President Thaci,
With deep pain and great respect, I wish, once again to express my sincere condolences for your father, Haxhi.
At such times, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
With deep sadness and disappointment, I received the news that you will not be able to attend his funeral. This is a great injustice, a twofold pain that no human should experience. Beyond laws and regulations, there are principles of justice, humanity, and human dignity that are today violated in the worst way.
But you have faced countless challenges with resistance and strength, from the freedom struggle to the construction of the state. You have always been a courageous leader, proud of the path you have pursued and of the sacrifices you have made for the people and the state of Kosovo. I have witnessed with my own eyes how you worked decisively for declaring independence and building institutions of a free and sovereign state.
Today, although unjustly isolated, you remain a symbol of Kosovo's pride and sacrifice for freedom. This trial, which with its actions makes it meaningless, cannot extinguish the truth and cannot stop the course of history. The truth will prevail and you will rise stronger than ever.
You, my friend, wish you health and strength! Kosovo still has much work to do, and there is no force that can stop our path to justice and progress.
With respect and full support,
Behgjet Pacolli
