The president of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has today held a telephone conversation with Kenyan President William Ruto, following the recognition of Kosovo by this African state.
In a post on the X platform, President Osmani has described the move as a real act of friendship that strengthens Kosovo's international position and co-operation for peace and security. She expressed her deep gratitude on behalf of the people of Kosovo and stressed her commitment to the quickest establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
During the conversation, the two leaders discussed the possibilities of deepening co-operation in areas such as trade, education, tourism and other areas of mutual interest. President Osmani disclosed how Kosovo is committed to opening diplomatic missions in both states as a concrete step towards a strong and stable partnership.
She also stressed that she is eager to welcome President Ruto to Kosovo and visit Kenya in the near future, underlining that the two leaders have been discussing this visit for some time now.
“Keniya can account for Kosovo as a true ally and partner,” has stressed President Osmani, thus marking the opening of a new chapter in relations between the two countries.
