Kosovo's Economic Oda has turned to the ombudsman asking for the suspension of the Energy Regulatory Office decision (ZRRE) for the open energy market.
OEK has asked the ombudsman to initiate the case at the Constitutional Court and ask for a year-long suspension of the ZRE decision, reports Periscope.
This requirement comes in order to protect businesses from possible electricity price growth, which will have a direct impact on increased production or service costs. Such growth would negatively affect the competitiveness of businesses in the domestic and external market, while also lowering the living standard of citizens”, said by OEK.
More than a thousand businesses from June 1st must choose the power suppliers themselves. But the transition to unregulated prices, which define the market, is being rejected by businesses. They have demanded that there be renewed postponements, however, that such a decision has been postponed since 2017.
The decision, which imposes companies with more than 50m or 10m euros in circulation annually since 1 June, is being rejected by business representatives.
