Amid rising tensions between the central government and Republika Srpska leaders, Rutte said this force is prepared to maintain a safe environment.
“EUFOR is fully prepared to maintain a safe and sustainable environment in BiH”, Rutte has said, as EUFOR reports in a Facebook post.
Today, at Camp Butmir, command team UFOR met NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. During official discussions, Major General Florin-Marian Barbu stressed that there is close co-operation between EUFOR and NATO in Bosnia and Herzegovina”.
EUFOR is the European Union's peacekeeping mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and has about 1500 troops as part of the Sarajevo-based Multinational Battalion. This force includes troops from Austria, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Moldova, Northern Macedonia, Romania and Turkey.
