Board of Electrical Energy Regulatory Office Chairman Ymer Zejnullah was cynical when at Euro nyT7 on Friday spoke of citizens' concerns related to the price of electricity for 15%.
Noting that they have no alternative but to accept new tariffs on April 1st, he told citizens that they can negotiate with other private suppliers, if they can find “more favourable concerns”.

When journalist Menduh Abazi told him that “this is impossible”, Zejnün reiterated with just as cynicism that citizens “have the right to take their fate at”.
Even citizens, even businesses, under the legislation, are eligible to negotiate prices with any of the suppliers in the region or even Kosovo, and don't take into account the prices set by the ERE, if they consider these prices to be too unfavourable for them. As for any other product, both for electricity and for electricity, they have the right to take their fate and negotiate contracts if they consider it to be more favourable to them”, he said.
We have 18 suppliers licensed. Each of them has a right and a chance to supply these citizens, but since they, most consumers in Kosovo, the price determined by the regulator is much more favourable, none of our citizens go out on the market.
