Hamas' top political leader, Salah al-Bardaweel, has been killed in an Israeli air strike in the southern town of Khan Yunis in Gaza, a Hamas official has announced. for “BBC” on Sunday.
The attack was reported to have lost Bardawel's life and his wife.
Israeli officials have not commented, broadcast Periscope.
The Israeli Army has resumed mass attacks in Gaza on Tuesday, blaming Hamas for refusing to extend the first phase of the ceasefire that had entered into force on January 19th.
Hamas denied Israel's accusations. He said Israel has violated the deal that was brokered by Qatar, Egypt and the US.
The Gaza Health Ministry has announced that 32 Palestinians have lost their lives in the last 24 hours in Gaza.
In a communiqué, Hamas said Bardahweel was forgiving when an Israeli missile hit the tent they were in.
Bardawell is one of nearly ten Hamas officials who have reportedly been killed since Israel resumed attacks in Gaza on Tuesday.
The Israeli Army launched an operation to destroy Hamas in response to the unprecedented attack of Hamas on Israeli territory on October 7, 2023, during which 1,200 people were killed and 251 hostages were taken.
Over 49,500 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza in Israel's offensive, according to Gaz Ministry of Health figures, while territory has been destroyed.
