A joint naval security exercise between Iran, China and Russia will begin Tuesday and will be organised by Iran's Navy of Islamic Republic.
A joint maritime security exercise will begin at the port of Chabahar, the Tasnim news agency reports, Euronews.
The exercise will be held in the northern Indian Ocean region with the participation of ships and Chinese and Russian supporters, as well as ships from the Iranian army and navy.
The goal of the exercise, according to Tasnim, is to strengthen its security and foundations in the region, enhance multilateral co-operation among participating countries and demonstrate the will and ability of these countries to jointly support global peace and maritime security, as well as to build a maritime community with a common future.
Other objectives of this exercise are strengthening the security of international maritime trade, combating piracy and maritime terrorism, exchanging information in the field of sea search-saving and exchanging operational and tactical experiences.
