Kosovo Police Inspectorate investigators (IPK) have recommended the suspension of three police officials in South Mitrovica.
The officers for whom the suspension has been recommended have allegedly misused the official position.
Based on the initial investigation, IPK investigators suspect that the officers sought suspension of duty had stopped and arrested a citizen, with whom one of the suspected policemen had problems of personal nature.
The first “in this case has been admitted by the IPK by Kosovo Police, where three police officials from the southern Mitrovica police station are involved in a case as suspected of criminal work “The use of official position or authority” and “Qest treatment during the exercise of official office”. The incident reportedly occurred in Mitrovica after midnight on March 2nd, 2025, when suspected officials (out of official but uniform) by private car had stopped a vehicle with the reasoning for an offense near “Square. Isa Boletini” in Mitrovica had subsequently announced a police unit in office and accompanied one of the passengers of the banned car to the police station. Based on initial investigations, IPK investigators suspect that one of the police officials involved as suspects in this case had personal nature problems with the arrested citizen”, the report said.
The investigative actions are being taken in co-ordination with the State Prosecutor while the case is handled in regular procedure.
IPK investigators are expected to take other investigative actions towards lighting up all circumstances in the case. /Periscope/
