Today we mark the anniversary of NATO bombings in Kosovo.
After the painful years of Serbia's state regime, where violence and genocide were part of state policy, NATO bombings were necessary to end a ruthless regime that has caused endless suffering for the people of Kosovo.
Thousands lost their lives, thousands were forced to flee their homes, while thousands of others faced torture and other abuses. The goal was clear as to the assimilation and destruction of the identity of Kosovo Albanians, implementing an ethnic cleansing policy that left behind a deep trauma.
NATO bombings were an urgent need to end this situation, paving the way for release.
Today, after 26 years, we remember those who lost their lives and those who contributed to Kosovo's freedom.
God bless the people of Kosovo!
God bless our allies.
God bless the Republic of Kosovo.PERISCOP
