Kurt Posting:
In the first weeks of the war in Kosovo, 27 years ago, such as today, on March 24, 1998, Serbian police units went to the village of Glodjan of Decani, attacking the centre of one of the most active armed groups of the Kosovo Liberation Army. From dawn until evening, they faced armed resistance centered around the family of Hilmi Haradinaj and his sons.
Commanded by Ramush Haradinaj, who was twice wounded during the fighting that day, along with his brothers Shkelzen, Daut, Frasher and Enver, with their sister Mema, their cousins Rasim and Bujar, and his grandson, Meshim Zeneli, and fellow fighters, pushed Serbian police down, causing damage and murder.
On Tuesday, Glogdjan's towers returned to the center tower, as they fought at Rasim Haradinaj's Szeqahu Mustafa's houses at the house of Xhafer Sadriu and Islam Hasani. On March 24th 1998, Gazmend Mehmetaj, Agron Mehmetaj and Hime Haradinaj were killed in Glodjan.
The resistance in Glodjan showed the stability of the people of Kosovo to continue the freedom struggle until the liberation of Kosovo from conquering and hostile Serbia.
Everlasting gratitude and honor to all those who fought and committed themselves to the liberation of Kosovo. Glory to the martyrs of the nation and all fallen to freedom of country!
