The OSD German language and test centre, which operates in three Kosovo cities, is marking an ongoing growing interest in German language courses. According to centre executives, the average number of coursers who attend curriculums totals about 250 students on regular grounds reports Online Economy, Periscope.
Although they have students of various profiles, Arber Xhedeen says the health profession prevails.
“We as the centre of German language and OSD exams are lying in three Kosovo cities. The number variations, but if we take an average figure of coursers, there are about 250 students who are constantly following the German language course”, says Xhedeen.
We now have several categories of students. We have students only follow the German language for the A1 level for the purposes of the family union, they don't need more than the A1 level, and some of them continue that while they are waiting for a visa to go to Germany, they decide to continue with their tongues because they still need them and then in Germany when they go or in other states, they have essentially continued the course, so it is a great priority for them to follow the” course here, the head of the centre stressed.
The interest in learning German has increased markedly over the past three to four years, especially by professionals in the medical field. This relates to the fact that many students in Kosovo attend various medical branches at private schools, while many of them aim to work in Germany after completing their studies.
This interest has begun with three, four years and continues to be very current and to have many requests for learning German by health professionals. This interest is related to the fact that many people here study medicine in different categories of medicine and our private faculties offer many places for students in the field of medicine, so I'm thinking it's also a conform interest and interest in learning German, because most nurses in particular want to continue working in Germany for different reasons”, Xhedin said.
Increased demand for German language learning reflects migration trends for work and the need for professional preparation of Kosovo young people aimed at a future in Germany.
If we talk about an average student. Suppose the first level ends in approximately three months and the second and third levels end in three months as well. Approximately eight months could complete B1 level, and there are hospitals now recently searching for B2 levels, and if that is required then it will reach 12 months. On average in 12 months, a person is willing to master his tongue to work in the nursing field”, he said.
