Floods in Dragash, after nearly a year yet, the government has not shared the Dragasch budget

On June 26, 2024, ten villages of Dragas were shaken by unprecedented flooding after the downpour.

Besides the general danger, but fortunately no one died, the material damage was substantial.

The next day on the ground was the prime minister with the local government minister.

According to the chairman, Bexhet Xhedeeni, the power hand has provided no assistance, although only two weeks later they had completed the report with damage data on public infrastructure.

“We have sent in physical copies but electronics to the Government of Kosovo. And after we've submitted it three times, I've reiterated the request to the Government of Kosovo”, pointed out Bexhet Xhedeeni ) Mayor of the Dragas municipality.

Xhedini indicates that even family economies, including farmers, have been voted in municipal assembly and handed over to the Central Commission for Indicators.

This day we have no response from either one euro or for public infrastructure or for damage to the family economy. The value somewhere in both amounts to 1.2m euros, infrastructure damage totals about 600 thousand euros”, Xhedini stressed.

TV Duagjini has requested an explanation from the Prime Minister's Office for failing to provide assistance, but until the release of this chronicity, we have not received answers.

Xhedini says they have canceled several tenders and taken money from the categories of goods and services in order to regulate public infrastructure, but who are now waiting for Government to give up 600 thousand euros in order to get the promised money.
