The session lasted over three hours, but today, just as yesterday, the decision was renewed and scheduled for tomorrow at 10:00.
Judge Engert Pelumbi's argument for delaying the decision on the security measure for Veliaj was that time was needed for the investigation of the case, while SPAK prosecutors, Daman and Dado demanded the continuation of the prison arrest move for Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj.
For about an hour, Veliaj presented his defence to ease that move, stressing that he continues to hold the post of Tirana mayor.
The judge has demanded final conclusions of the parties, while the Daman and Dado prosecutors demanded the continuation of Veliaj's stay in prison, refusing to have him released on property guarantees.
Prosecutors presented new evidence, including wiretaps of Veliaj's calls from custody, with brother and wife discussing the orientation on charges against the SPAK, while Veliaj was protected by saying there were media that had made unreasonable attacks on him.
In his defence, Veliaj also cited DP leader Sali Berisha, where, according to him, the democratic leader makes accusations against the SPAK directly before the media and no measures are taken, while Veliaj himself makes accusations against SPAK prosecutors otherwise.
“Why are Berisha's attacks on SPAK” not considered new evidence, Veliaj has said.
