The decision of the Government of Kosovo, which allows import from Serbia only through the Merdar border, has caused major traffic in trucks. According to drivers, it is estimated that as many as 150 trucks are waiting to enter Kosovo.
Under last October 7th decision, the importation of Serbian goods from other crossings is prohibited until scanners are secured, which will help Kosovo Customs control goods without physical interference.
A truck driver expressed outrage at the decision, saying he has been facing such stops at other border points for six months.
He has said the executive leader is not interested in Kosovo businesses, saying his wait for more than 48 hours has been laboring.
For two days, without eating or drinking, because Albin (Curty) has decided Serbia's goods come to Merdar, and according to him only Merdar is a state in Kosovo and nothing else. I've had to go to Pristina, made without a cigarette to come here all, made a huge mess. Five months and up to 150 non-stop trucks are on the line waiting. I've been waiting for 48 hours. Did I have any food and drink, and did I not eat from it? I've had it very difficult, eating in a truck, sleeping in a truck, and this is God's taking of what you're doing to Kosovo businesses... I've voted it last time, but never again, you get what you're doing, and this way it's getting proud of the growth of the <x1 budget, this driver said, as he said he's thinking about migration.
I'm 53 years old, but I'd never been here for days. Without bread we have been without water, it's taken four to five miles to buy something in Merdar, and the reason is that this customs terminal can't afford all this flow of”.
One other driver expressed concern, though not aware of the October 7 decision.
“150 trucks are, since yesterday since 12 am waiting. I don't know why, but ask Albin Kurt, and he knows why he's in charge. It has hardly been, without bread and water, we have become like streetmen”, another driver said.
Enraged, a driver from Serbian nationalism also expresses them.
I can't talk, I talk too much, nothing does. Two and a half days I'm waiting for nothing, this is catastrophe” /EO/Periscopi/
