DHTIK calls Z RRE to postpone decision on liberalisation of the energy market

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Kosovo said it has met with great concern the Energy Regulatory Office's decision to liberalise the energy market, charging it that in silence and without any preliminary consultation it has continued this process. DHTIK said it has been addressed with a request, ZERE Board Chairman Ymer Feyzullahu, urging it to push for at least a year this “decision because as such it will negatively affect production, export, employment and economic development”.
We have received written calls and requests from our member companies, which have expressed their great concern with this step, so we appreciate that it is not the right time for such a process to occur now. Entering the free market will cause unpredictable growth of energy costs and will bring serious challenges to businesses”.
DHTIK says currently Z RRE offers only the list of licensed suppliers, but does not offer a platform where the prices these suppliers offer would be compared.
“RRE allows the installation of solar panels up to 200 k.m. a system that generates electricity of up to 28,000 euros a year, instead of this restriction being removed for big businesses”.
DHTIK also listed the other “sphides that transmit this sector”.
The lack of a clear legal framework for consumption itself and energy sales tariffs have hampered investment growth.
Limited capacity of the current network is not always able to integrate new solar production capacities without additional investments in infrastructure.
The lack of sustainable simulations: Subvention policies are not long-term and change often, creating uncertainty for investors.
Bureaucratic procedures ) The process for obtaining permits and licenses remains complicated and slow”.
Also, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Kosovo said they have accepted large numbers of telephone and e-mail calls from businesses, which have concerns that KESCO's request for specific information is violating laws, offering this private financial data company.
“DECTIK long ago, it has alarmed that neighbouring states are targeting our businesses, offering them very favourable conditions for carrying their product. Despite the fact that businesses have been very focused on their contribution to developing the country, employment and increasing the state budget through taxes, continuing the approach of making decisions without any preliminary consultation, risks pushing them to eventually leave Kosovo”. /Periscope/
