The Constitutional Court in Pristina, the Special Department, has approved the Special Prosecutor's request of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK) for replacing the house detention measure with house arrest against defendants Naser Hafizi.
Regarding this decision that has been made, on March 6th, Basic Court spokeswoman in Pristina Mirlinda Gashi has confirmed to “Justice bet” that the house arrest measure against Haviz will remain in force until April 6th 2025.
Naser Hafizi, task manager of the Regional River Lakes Authority (ARPL) at the Ministry of Environment, Space Planning and Infrastructure (MMPHI), has been in custody since October last year.
Even his lawyer, Ahmet Tahiri, has written Thursday evening that Haviz has been released from custody.
“Today, justice decided to free Naser Hafizin from custody under the Constitutional Court's decision in Pristina. As his lawyer, I am convinced that even the final epilogue of this trial will be his innocence”, Tahiri wrote.
Hafizi was arrested on October 10th 2024 at Pristina Airport, after the Special Prosecutor had announced that he had not been found in his residence during an action on October 8th. Since then, he has been kept in custody.
