He stressed that elections and the will of citizens should be respected.
“During the elections, the goal is to accept the result and work together to overcome divisions. Each country has the right to elect its own government, and the US does not specify who should lead it. We work with anyone that people pick”, Lawler said in an interview for journalist Xhemajle Rex at Interactiv Talks.
He praised Kosovo as an important partner of the United States and stressed that the American military presence in the country is in line with US national security interests.
Commenting on the position of administration Trump, Lawler stressed that Ambassador Richard Green will have a voice in the process, but the main figures that will play a crucial role are Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz.
In the end, he voiced confidence that with the end of the war in Ukraine, there will be more room to focus on stability and lasting peace between Kosovo and Serbia. /Periscope.
