The Central Election Commission (KQZ), this Thursday, is expected to certified the final outcome of the February 9th elections.
Before the certificate, the CEC has sent a letter to political parties, informing them of legal obligations related to the resignation of current government members who have been elected MPs in the new legislature.
According to the letter by CEC chairman Kressnik Radoniqi, Article 26 of the Law for the Government of the Republic of Kosovo requires that members of the government who have been elected MPs resign from the post of cabinet member prior to the Day of Certificate of election results.
The letter notes that on March 26, 2025, The CEC has acknowledged the rulings of the Supreme Court of Kosovo over complaints to the election panel's decisions on Ances and Parashta, which concerned the announcement of the election outcome.
Also, no further complaints have been confirmed awaiting decision-making.
In line with the Law on the Government of Kosovo, The CEC has announced that the certificate of the outcome of Kosovo's Assembly elections, held on February 9th 2025, will take place on 27 March, at 1600.
CEC Chairman Radoniqi has appealed to political parties to respect the law and take the necessary actions to resign members of the government who have been elected MPs so that the regular functioning of Kosovo institutions is ensured.
By the current government, besides Prime Minister Albin Kurti, several ministers and deputy ministers have been elected, such as: Faton Peci, Hekuran Murati, Albulen Haxhiu, Jelal Svecla, Donika Grovalla-Schwarz, Arben Vitita, Ejup Macedonci, Hajrula Ceku, Arberie Nagavci, Lisa Gashi, Rozeta Hajdari, Fikrim Damka, Nenad Rassic, Elbert Krasniqi and Emilja Rexhepi.
