By 4 votes for the CEC has not approved the recommendation of the CEC Secretariat to open all ballot boxes with ballots sent by voters outside Kosovo to CEC mailboxes, the Online Economy reports.
This recommendation was rejected by opposition members who said they were only for the PZAP decision and not the secretariat's recommendation.
Besim Buzhala, director of the CEC Secretariat, said the Electoral Panel for Ances and Parashtres, under decisions date 04.03.2025, has approved the complaint of political subject Movement V. With 15 ballots declared invalid, validated, and the same included in the final outcome.
According to him, based on information collected, such ballots are found in most of the other boxes, which include different political subjects, and on this case he said the CEC Secretariat recommends the CEC to make a decision to open all ballot boxes via mail, in order to re-evaluate and enumerate all ballots that have been declared invalid, in line with PZAP's decision, where the same ones will enter into results for political subjects and candidates.
“Secretariat recommends to the CEC that it open all boxes of diaspora votes with envelopes, 177 boxes, where there are 1631 invalid ballot papers, in order to assess these boxes in ballots that have been declared invalid, based on the Pzap's decision to waste 15 ballot papers, following the political subject's complaint, LV<1>, he said.
PDK member Ilir Gashi has said they oppose this recommendation and are only for the PZAP decision.
Gashi said decision PZAP was taken and is a result of a procedure.
You have made a hypothetical request that should not come from you. They're the source of a printer. I've said from the beginning that this process is contaminated. I'm only to respect the PZAP decision just for concrete decision, no other box should be opened without a PZAP decision. I demand that this recommendation not be supported. We have to wait for the appeals terms”, he said.
CEC member Sami Kurteshi of VV said they were in favour of this recommendation.
The recommendation was detailed, we have a PZAP decision that was wrongly declared invalid. It's about balloting that's been printed. P ZAP says they are valid because the goal of voters is known. All invalid ballots must be extracted and recount”, he said.
AQZ member Ibrahim Selmonaj has said the entire voting process for him and his party is contaminated.
For that, he has said they support only PZAP's decision.
Even if they count all the votes in the mail for me and the AAK are contaminated, suspected votes, and there are votes from the start that have started registration and transportation they don't give us a guarantee that this vote is secure. I support the PZAP” decision, he said.
