The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has ordered the deployment of Republika Srpska leaders into 30-day custody, shortly after they are detained for questioning under suspicion of violating constitutional order.
The court confirmed it has ordered the detention of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister Radovan Viskovic and National Assembly Chairman Nenad Stevandic.
Dodik, Viskovic and Stevandic are suspected of attacking constitutional order, a criminal offence under Bosnia and Herzegovina's Penal Code, which envisions a prison sentence of up to five years and a ban on the exercise of official office.
They have ignored Bosnian Prosecution's calls for an interview.
Therefore, the Bosnian Prosecution issued an order Wednesday to bring them under obligation for interview, broadcast Periscope.
The Bosnian Criminal Procedure Code envisions the possibility of issuing the order for forced behaviour to issue a statement, in case a person called to judicial institutions refuses to appear on his own.
If that is not possible, the next step is to issue a national arrest sheet.
The order for the detention of Dodik, Viskovic and Stevajki was given to state-level judicial police on Wednesday, with the assistance requested by the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA).
The State Prosecutor had earlier indicated that the investigation into the case had started in December 2024, due to suspicions based on the carrying out of this criminal act. / REL/
