AV ONET: Government cancels the position of Pathent Unit Leader

This decision, according to AV ONET, presents a rotating blow to the functioning of this important sector and risks further exacerbating the already fragile situation of driving patent services in Kosovo.

AV ONET says the License Department faces serious challenges to its management and operation, as well as to combat abuses in this sector.

With this decision, the institution's degradation is accelerated, making an actual management of the process impossible. It is not acceptable that managing such a sensitive service remains solely in the responsibility of a division leader, who should cover all Kosovo municipalities, instead of having regional entity leaders, just as it used to be”, the NGO network says.

AV The ONET said it has made efforts to establish this issue and carry out meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MPB) and the Ministry of Environment, Space Planning and Infrastructure (MMPHI), but stresses that the relevant “institutions have chosen to shut down”.

AV ONET says these actions of the Office of the Prime Minister and the relevant ministries are not welcome and should urgently be revised, as it says this decision “damages state and social interest, eliminating key positions in a sector where citizens need more efficient and more organised service”.
