The future government should have clear agendas in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue process, says Austrian Eurodeput, Lucas Mandl. This issue, according to him, should be a priority for the new executive and legislature, following the February 9th national elections, broadcast. Periscope.
As he talks about meetings between Pristina and official Belgrade, he says that “is important to put something on the negotiating table by yourself”.
After organising the February 9th parliamentary elections, Mandl expects local institutions to undertake reforms in Kosovo.
European Parliament member Lucas Mandl is optimistic that EU Foreign Policy and Security Senior Representative Kaya Kallas will commit to positive dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
The optimist is also about removing European Union measures against Kosovo imposed in June 2023.
“From the very beginning I have been against these measures, against the Republic of Kosovo, Europe's newest state. I have in mind the whole situation, given the form of the Republic of Kosovo, the suffering of the people in the past, the long process of European integration that seems to have been locked up from time to time, is meaningless in my opinion to impose measures against the Republic of Kosovo. That's why I parliamentaryly oppose, but I think that more and more in the European Commission and especially in the European Parliament are in favour of lifting these sanctions, those measures”, he concluded, for the KP.
