Three days after the arrest of a woman with initial J. J. From the Serb community in northern Kosovo for “spiration”, there is almost no information on this case. What is known is that J. What is known is that J. J. is a worker of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation mission in Europe (OSBE) in Pristina.
While some Kosovo media write that it is about a “spiun” of Serbia's Security and Information Agency (BIA), this agency has not answered Radio Free Europe questions to confirm or deny these speculations.
Free Europe Radio has attempted to get more details about the case even from the Kosovo Special Prosecutor, as well as through the arrest attorney Predrag Miljevic, but without success.
Kosovo police have briefly confirmed that the suspected person for “spiration” was arrested on February 28th at the border checkpoint in Jarinje, north of Kosovo, at the order of the Special Prosecutor, but did not provide further details, Radio Free Europe.
The Special Prosecutor also announced on February 28th that the person arrested for spying could face a minimum sentence of five years in prison, according to the Penal Code, if confirmed that he has been spying or has collected data for a foreign intelligence service or in any other way assists the work of that service.
So far, the only thing known is that I arrested J. J. She is a resident of North Mitrovica, who is employed in O The SBE (The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe).
The OSCE Mission to Kosovo on March 2nd said it has taken into account media reports on the ban on their <x0-seat members” and that they are in contact with its lawyer.
“Although the mission cannot comment on this case because of the ongoing investigations, it remains committed to co-operating with relevant authorities”, the OSCE statement says, stressing that they are in contact with relevant institutions and the OSCE Secretariat in Vienna to ensure “the respect of the pre-represent procedure”.
REL is heading towards O'S mission The SEU in Kosovo asking which position exactly J. G., as long as he's a member of the mission and if the mission conducts security checks for its employees. But until the publication of this article, the answer has not come.
Locked door judicial session
The session in which the initial person J. J. The detention measure was scheduled for a month, held on March 2nd at the Constitutional Court in Pristina, but was not open to the public.
Afterwards, the court announced that there is a “change based on J.J. The co-ordination “has committed the crime of spying” and that the detention measure is assigned because of the risk that it can affect evidence and witnesses, and I can repeat the same criminal act or other criminal acts can be carried out again under the same or more severe circumstances.
“The court considers that the burden of the criminal act is of grave nature, so assigning the detention measure is a necessary measure in this criminal case and that any other measure would be insufficient for successful implementation of criminal procedure, preventing the normal course of this procedure, as well as preventing the repetition of criminal acts”, the statement noted.
No response to arrest
Serbia's institutions have not responded to the woman's arrest with initial J. The J., although so far it has been practical that after every arrest of Serbs in Kosovo, including those for <x0-terrorism” or “risking constitutional order”, the Office for Kosovo reacts to the Government of Serbia.
Also, neither has the Serbian List, the largest party of Serbs in Kosovo, been promoted, which enjoys the support of official Belgrade.
Arresting suspect J. J. It happened on the same day that Kosovo Minister of Internal Affairs Jedal Svecla announced that police, after receiving information from the ground, had launched an operation on the territory of the Leposaviqi municipality, during which military uniforms, weapons and ammunition were seized, and that members of the organisation “Civil Mbrojon”, which “continued to operate on the territory of Kosovo”.
Previous charge of co-operation with BIA
Also, Kosovo Special Prosecutorship on February 20th filed an indictment against two people with initials B. The U.S. and the M.Q., under suspicion that they committed the crime of spying.
Local media in Kosovo reported that it is about Kosovo Albanians linked to Serbian authorities, Serbia's Security and Information Agency (BIA) respectively.
However, BIA denied any connection with those arrested in Kosovo, naming this a “attempt to distribute false news” by authorities in Pristina.
