Amsterdam attack, at least five wounded

The attack occurred just before 3:30 local time. According to initial information, the suspect has been arrested, but the motive for the attack is still unknown.
We don't have any information at the moment for the cause or motive of the incident with the knife. This is the subject of our investigation”, the Amsterdam police report.
Police have surrounded the area in Sint Nicolestraat and Dam Square. At least fourteen police vehicles and a motorcycle policeman have arrived at the scene within 15 minutes, reports De Telegree.
Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema, Chief Prosecutor Rene de Beukelaer and police chief Peter Hola met for consultations after the attack.
The Dam Square is one of the most visited sites in the Dutch capital, located in the historic center of Amsterdam and surrounded by monuments such as the Royal Palace.
